If you’ve been reading our columns regularly, you know we’re big advocates for keeping your old cell phones out of landfill and make some cash along the way. Traditionally, we recommend selling your old phone on Ebay. Most of the time, you can get a higher price if you allow oversea buyers.
However, new safety rules may change where you can now ship your old phones and gadgets. Starting May 16th, The United States Postal Service (USPS) will no longer ship any electronics with Lithium Ion batteries overseas. So you’re selling your phone internationally, you may need to use a more expensive carrier such as UPS or FedEx. So keep that in mind the next time you list your old gadgets for sale on Ebay.
