Not to throw another wrench into the Google Android vs. Apple iPhone debate but today Google just launched another feature that is killer for travelers. One of the best feature of the Android phones is the Google Map integration. However, if you’re an international traveler, you get the frustration of not having access to Google maps unless you want to pay for overpriced roaming charges for data.

The beauty of offline Google Maps is that you can select the area you want to save to your phone when you’re in the country or on wifi. Then simply carry that map with you when you travel and turn off the data connection. The Map will still work perfectly because your phone has saved a copy and the GPS is free and does not use the data connection. we have to say our Android phone just got more useful.
